Jean passed peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday March 6 in Courtenay.
Mom was born in Campbell River and lived her whole life in Courtenay. An active volunteer with the Evergreen Seniors Centre in its early days mom also devoted many years to swimming with special needs children in the 80's and 90's. In her later years she knitted baby clothes and mittens for donation to new moms and the homeless. She was a potter in the valley active in the Potters Club for many years as well as a founding member of the Potter’s Place. She and her husband Geoff spent as much time as they could camping both on the island and throughout the province. They loved the outdoors and took every opportunity they could to enjoy them.
Jean is survived by her sons, Noel and David (Kathy) Henderson.
There will no funeral service; a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
