Obituary of Lois Dorothea Black
It is with heavy hearts the family of Lois Black (nee Passmore) mourn her sudden passing at her home on December 20, 2018 with her husband at her side. She grew up in Medicine Hat Alberta and Victoria BC as a member of the Passmore family. Lois had many experiences in life starting her family in Ontario, moving to Hong Kong and returning to raise her children on Vancouver Island in 1965. A woman of many interests, Lois pursued career paths as a realtor and a business woman. Her endeavours include owning a restaurant, several flower shops, and a bed and breakfast in the communities she called home. She leaves behind a network of friends, neighbours, and business associates in Royston, Comox Valley, Parksville, and Victoria. Lois was an extremely loving and caring person who was very devoted to her family and deeply valued her social connections. She loved large gatherings of family and friends. The serenity of their cabin at Village Bay Lake was a particular pleasure she enjoyed. As a contrast to the peace of the cabin, Lois traveled throughout North America on many RV trips while cheering on her grandson’s motocross circuit. Lois is survived by her loving husband Norm of 50 years, son Rod(Hope) Marr of Abbotsford, daughter Cindy(Kim) Lange of Courtenay, son John(Coree) Reddin of Courtenay, and son Harry Reddin of Parksville. A proud grandmother and great-grandmother, she also leaves behind 7 grand children: Candra, Drew and Darcy(Laura) MARR, Dustin(Crystal) and Darcy(Allison) LANGE, Chris(Natasha) and Cody(Crista) REDDIN, as well as 10 great grandchildren: Julia, Nolan, Kelly, Lylah, Katie, Gracie, Dakota, Landyn, Jacelynn and Owen. Sisters Joan Goldie and Billie Brier, sister in law Margaret(Frank) Hughes niece Virginia Greene, nephews Jamie Goldie, Steve Brier, Robert and Donald(Shawna) Hughes. Her love of life and her love of family, Jehovah God, friends and people are what made her life full and happy. She was grateful for the support of all these loving people and her strong faith and hope for a better future and life to come on this earth as promised in the bible at Psalms 37:10,11,29 and Revelation 21: 1-5 Lois was a member of Courtenay South Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Celebration of Life to be held on January 5, 2019 at 2pm,1581 Dingwall Road Courtenay, B.C.
