Noreen Lavern Darling

Noreen passed away on June 2, 2019 at the Comox Valley Seniors Village in Courtenay. Noreen was born in Camrose, Alberta on May 27, 1927. Noreen and Bob moved from Edmonton, Alberta to Union Bay in the early 1980’s. Noreen enjoyed the community, made many good friends and volunteered for many local events. She was a member of the Lionesses and Pythian Sisters. At home, in the spring, she always looked forward to the arrival of numerous hummingbirds and songbirds. She loved to cook big meals for friends and relatives. Noreen also enjoyed painting, playing the organ and ukulele. Noreen is predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), parents Joe and Mary Mozel and brother, Norman Mozel. She is survived and will be missed by her sons, Robert (Sandra) and Ian and her daughter Kathleen (Ron) Lastiwka, her seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Noreen’s close friends, caregivers, community support workers and Dr. Janice McLaughlin and Dr. Susan Hunter for their care and support. At Noreen’s request no memorial service will be held.
