James Robert Jacobs

James R. Jacobs, age 52 of Westport, died as the result of an industrial elevator accident Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Needham, MA.
Born in New Bedford, James was the son of Barbara (Cardoza) Jacobs of Fairhaven and Charles Jacobs of Saranac, NY. He attended New Bedford Vocational Technical High School, graduated from Dartmouth High School in 1985 and attend Bristol Community College and UMASS Dartmouth.
A member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local #4 out of Boston, James was employed as an Elevator Constructor with Otis Elevator Co. for the past 4 years.
James is survived by his daughter Khloe L. Jacobs and her mother Lynn Levesque of Somerset. James was Khloe’s biggest fan, attending every softball tournament, Martial Arts event and basketball games. James and Khloe went on many memorable trips and brought their dog Bear.
In addition to his daughter and parents, James is survived by his sister Denise Brown and her husband Thomas of Acushnet; a brother Charlie Jacobs of Salem, NH; nieces Jennifer Stanford, Jessica Gaudreau, Mary Smith, Joy Smith, Skyla Jacobs and Alyssa Jacobs and several cousins.
James was the grandson of the late Joseph and Mary Cardoza and Margaret Bray.
His Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by his Funeral Service at 8PM in the funeral home.
