Obituary of Audrey Cromwell
CROMWELL, Audrey Evangeline - age 95, passed away on Friday, October 19, in Oakwood Terrace Nursing Home in Dartmouth. Audrey was born on June 29, 1923, a daughter of George Alfred and Stella May (Paris) Prevost, Newport Station, Hants Co. Audrey worked at the Camp Hill Hospital for more than 20 years. She was an extremely hard worker inside and outside of the home who passed on her amazing work ethic to her children. She was a much-loved wife, mother and member of her community. Her door was always open to help anyone in need. As a result, her home was a hub of family and community. It was often bursting at the seams with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends who will always cherish her Natal Day barbecues and Christmas celebrations. Audrey had a fabulously dry sense of humor and loved bingo, baseball, especially the Toronto Blue Jays, and game shows Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right. She also enjoyed a good episode of Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Marion Skinner, Halifax; Maxene (Edward) Shepard, Halifax; Sharon (Sheriff) Mohammad, Trinidad, West Indies. Also her brothers; Blayne, Fall River; Tyrone, Halifax; daughters Tama (Michael), Sandra, both of Dartmouth; Brenda, Toronto; Angela (Hervé), Dartmouth; sons George (a.k.a Buddy), Dartmouth; Greg (Amy), and Christopher (Lonita), both of Halifax; 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband George Emery, daughter Trudy, son Perry, brothers, Claude, Curtis, Ted, Eric, Graham, and Keith and sister, Vera. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 25 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth (902-461-0700). A funeral service will be held Friday, October 26 at 2 p.m. in Victoria Road United Baptist Church, 36 Victoria Rd., Dartmouth, with Rev. Dr. Lionel Moriah, Rev. Dr. Elias Mutale and Rev. Sherrolyn Riley officiating. It will be followed by a repast in the church hall. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia and the Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks to the staff at Oakwood Terrace for their loving care throughout her stay. Online condolences may be sent to: www.mattatallfuneralhome.com
