HOYT, Mary Edna (née Dryden) – age 77, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on November 2, 2018. Born in South Oromocto Lake, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jessie (McAleer) Dryden. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a product demonstrator for marketing companies and provided at home childcare for many neighbourhood children. She was an avid recreational bowler, and she loved reading, playing video games with her grandchildren, and spending time with family, especially at Christmas. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence, children Janet (Normand) Hoyt-d’Eon, Terry (Anna), grandchildren Greg, Jason, Shoma, and Nuala, brothers Robert (Barbara) Dryden, John (Mae) Dryden, and sisters-in-law Nancy Dryden, Rose (Maurice) Muir, brother in-law Don (Sylvia) Hoyt and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, James Dryden, and special aunt Annie McAleer. Cremation has taken place, no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 10, in Patterson United Church in Wirral, NB.
