Obituary of Vonda Marlene Hansom
HANSOM, Vonda M. – 60 of Dartmouth. It is with profound sadness that the family of Vonda Marlene Hansom announce her peaceful passing with her family by her side on November 20, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Vonda was the daughter of the late Frederick Crane and Margaret Marie (Stiles) Daniels. Throughout her life Vonda was a loving, caring Mother and Wife, always putting everyone’s needs before her own. Her family meant the world to her and she was overjoyed when her grandchildren Maddox and Mai were born. Vonda spent many hours caring for others even to her last day. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone around her. Because she chose to stay home with her children, she became an ardent volunteer at Southdale School for over 20 years. She also coordinated many events and fundraisers and was there for every special moment of her children’s lives. Vonda was a talented seamstress, quilter and crafter who created the most beautiful work which graced her home and cottage. She shared this passion with her friend Anne attending craft shows and giving gifts to her family and friends. Vonda spent over 50 years enjoying the family cottage at Amherst Shore. All who knew her loved her; she became the Queen of Amherst Shore. She will be truly missed by her friends and family on Brownell Lane. Vonda is survived by her husband Bruce, daughters Jennifer (Jamie) LeBlanc, Nicole (John Marsh), grandchildren Maddox and Mai, sister Shawna (Brian) Kearley, several nieces, cousins and her many wonderful friends too numerous to mention and predeceased by her sister Donna (Ron) Dodge. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 2 p.m. in Grace United Church in Dartmouth. Reception to follow. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice. Online condolences may be viewed or sent to: www.mattatallfuneralhome.com
