Donald James Leo Holbein

Holbein Donald James Leo – Age 78,Deep Brook , Annapolis Co; passed away December 1, 2018 in the Digby General Hospital. Born in Toronto, ON; he was a son of the late William and Mary Margaret (Thomas) Holbein. He was employed as Jail keeper for 4 years, dog catcher for 2 years , employed as a janitor for 12 years in Bear River and Annapolis. He was a Cub Leader in Bear River and he enjoyed going to yard sales and was an old bottle collector. Surviving are his spouse Valerie Ann Ruth Holbein, daughter Liane (Donald) Johnson, sons Donald (Stephanie) Holbein Jr., Bradley (Sarah) Holbein, daughter in law Darlene Holbein, sister Deanna Isley , sisters in law Mary Milner and Helen Brazolot, grandchildren Evan (Samantha) Holbein, Brett Holbein, Justin (Heather) Johnson, Katie (Jon) Pascoe, Jessica (Kevin) Wright, Hudson and Paton Gosse, great grandchildren Noah, Lathan, Mason Pascoe, Bentley, Lexus, Hudson Johnson, Emma and James Wright, Beckett Holbein, grand fur babies, nieces and nephews, Paul , David, Alissa Milner, Kevin and Kim Brazolot, James Dean Isley, Jeanette Beaver, Mark, Brant , Kari, Mike Holbein. He was predeceased by brother William Jr., sister Dianne and brother in laws Brian, Gerald, and James. A Celebration of Donald’s life will be held 7 - 9pm , Friday, December 7, from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby. Mr. Wayne Isles officiating.
