Obituary of Lewis "Lewie" Edmund Riley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lewis "Lewie" Edmond Riley on April 12, 2019. He was born on July 8, 1932 in Lequille, NS to the parents of the late Ethel and DuVernet Riley of Clementsvale, Annapolis County, NS. He is survived by stepchildren, Diane (Kilpatrick) Dease and Steven Kilpatrick; brothers,Wilfred (Christenia) Riley, Royce (Sharon) Riley; sisters, Marion Mullen, Doris Brown, Sharon Ellis; step- grandchildren; nieces, nephews and his special family Kevin and Caroline Young, Gordie Wilson and Lori Wilson. He was predeceased by wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Janet (Hewey) Riley; daughter, Tammy Elizabeth Riley; common-law wife, Marcia Cortez; brother, Neil Riley; nieces, Andrea Louise Riley, Carol (Mullen) Smith; brother-in-laws, William Brown and Donald Mullen. Lewie started his working career as a woods worker before going to work for Annapolis Dairy driving a milk truck delivering various milk products to a list of customers, he worked there for three years. He then started working for Irving Oil where he ended his career after being there from 1962 to when he retired in 1993 as a Branch Manager. He will always be remembered as a skilled handyman at any project that came his way. He was an avid dart, crib and card player who always made time for family and friends. He enjoyed attending church and being part of the Sunday congregation. As requested there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at the Smith’s Cove Baptist Church at 1pm on Saturday May 4, 2019. Graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery for family and friends.
