Sarah Ellen Ramsey

Sarah Ellen Ramsey – 99, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. She was born in Rome, Georgia on September 24, 1919 to the late Morgan and Eula Mathis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph V. Ramsey, daughter, Karen R. Edens and her eight siblings, Robert Mathis, Lena Braswell, Jessie Freeman, Annie Mae Brock, Doyal Mathis, Mary Boss, Sue Miller, and Milton Mathis. Sarah was the former owner of Broad Street Restaurant and for many years she managed and owned real estate. She was a member of East Ridge United Methodist Church and the Joy Friendship Sunday School Class. Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn (Roy) Cason, of Ringgold, GA, Kandy (Randy) Boleman, of East Ridge, TN, Sarah Patricia Ramsey, of Tallahassee, FL, three grandchildren, Mindy Berceli, Cain Collison, Joseph Boleman, two step-grandchildren, Emma Collison, Robert Boleman, three great-grandchildren, Cole Berceli, Lux Collison, and Bennett Boleman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Natalie Smart officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2019, at the funeral home.
