Obituary of Louise Albina Clark
Louise Clark (nee Halwa) died peacefully surrounded by her family at the Misericordia Hospital on August 2, 2018 at 91 years of age. She was born to the late Anna (nee Sych) and John Halwa on June 30, 1927. Louise was raised on a farm in the Wilton Park/Calmar AB area and was the first in her family to graduate university (U of A) and become a teacher. She proudly remembered her first years teaching in a one room school. She spent over 40 years as a Grade 1 teacher in Calmar/ Leduc County. Louise was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family and friends deeply. Louise was a courageous, confident, outgoing person and had many pursuits and interests. She was also involved in Toastmasters for many years where she became an avid public speaker. She was also a member of the Minus One Club for over 40 years and for 25 of those years she held the position of President for the singles dance club. A consummate teacher, she spent 40 years teaching children and another 30 teaching adults to enjoy & master ballroom dance. Louise was predeceased by her parents Anna and John as well as six of her siblings; Caroline (John), Adolf (Rosemarie), Stella (Fred), Frank (Jenny), Henry (Marian) and Wanda (Albin). She is survived by her sisters Kate, Aldona and Adelaide, sister in law Marian and her 4 children Garrell, Roxanne (Stephen), Terri (Dave) and Holly (Gary). As well as grandchildren Carl, Crystal, Janelle, Megan, Julian, and Isaac and many greatgrandchildren; Zackary, Alexis, Nadie, Cael, Peyton, Sena, Everleigh and Lincoln.A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday Aug 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Hainstock’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 9810-34 Avenue NW, Edmonton. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Kidney Foundation. Keep dancing Mom. xoxo
