Maria Cruz Garcia

In loving memory of Maria Cruz Garcia, 80, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who believed in the sanctity of family and was the pillar of strength we all leaned upon. Maria Cruz was as fierce as she was tender, quick-witted and compassionate. Her counsel and company were widely-sought and her home was always open to those in need. As we move forward in life, we will work to honor the legacy she created through her teaching and place family above all else. Maria Cruz was preceded in death by her husband, Rosalio Garcia, in 2007. We find solace in their reunion. Her spirit lives on in her children: José Graciano Garcia, Rosalio Garcia, Jr., Jaime Garcia, Blanca Rosa Garcia, Rene Daniel Garcia; grandchildren: José Luis, Juan Carlos, Jorge Antonio, Melissa, Priscilla, Jessica, Jasmine, Karemay, Rachel, Andrea, Vanessa, Gary, Jason, Ashley, Joshua, Bianca; and great grandchildren: Isis, Kaylah, Alyssa, Ciera, Damien, Bryan, Yaritza, Jayleen, Isaiah, Colin, Priya, Reign, Isley, and Odin. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Anthony, NM. Vigil at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will occur on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church. Interment will follow in Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, NM. Maria Cruz Garcia will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts. “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck” (Proverbs 1:8-9).
