Obituary of Lawrence Edward Scholl
Lawrence Edward Scholl - 12/13/1938 - 6/17/2019. Larry was born in Franklin, Ohio, and was one of seven children. He worked many odd jobs as a child, eventually putting himself through Miami University, Oxford, Ohio (A.B.) and The University of Chicago Law School (J.D.). After law school he taught law classes at Miami University, where he met his wife, Marlene. They moved to Cincinnati where he became the Vice President, General Counsel of Midland Enterprises Inc., then General Council of Eastern Associated Coal Company. They settled in Terrace Park, a quaint suburb of Cincinnati and had two children, Jacob and Sandra. After retiring from his law profession he became an Adjunct Assistant Professor, UC Clermont College, where he taught for 19 years. Larry was a member of the Milford Gun Club and enjoyed skeet shooting and fishing. He was an avid reader and had a keen interest in World War II. He was known for his great wit and intelligence. Larry moved to San Diego in 2013 and lived within a mile of his daughter. His granddaughter Ashley was born in 2015 and became one of his greatest joys. He especially enjoyed teaching Ashley how to fish. He always looked forward to visits from his son and grandson who live in Seattle. He took such joy in his banter with his grandson Ari, for whom he would prepare elaborate stories and play chess. He was buried in Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin, Ohio, near his parents and siblings. Larry is survived by: Wife of 51 years - Marlene, San Diego, CA, Son - Jacob Scholl, Wife Elizabeth Stefan, Grandson Ari, Seattle, WA, Daughter - Sandra Brande, Husband Matt Brande, Granddaughter, Ashley, San Diego, CA, Brother - Lee Scholl, San Antonio, TX.
