Wayne A. Thompson

Wayne A. Thompson age 57, Power Lineman for ILB Local #291 passed away September 11, 2019 in Twin Falls Idaho. A memorial service to honor Wayne will be held at the First Baptist Church 204 E Elm Street New Plymouth Idaho 83655 at 2 PM with a pot luck style reception to follow. Wayne was born June 9th 1962 in Council Idaho to Audrey and Delmer Thompson. Wayne moved to New Plymouth at a young age. Following school Wayne went to work at American Fine Foods, while there he met Sherrie Thompson; the two courted 3 years and were married May 23rd 2000 on Catalina Island California. At age 35 Wayne attended Northwest Lineman College in Meridian Idaho. Upon completion Wayne went to work at Das-co in Nampa Idaho for a brief time. He then took a position in Bakersfield California at EIU. Wayne returned to Idaho when offered a job with 4T Construction. Shortly after completing his journeyman he went to work for Probst Electric. Wayne traveled throughout his Lineman career before he made his way back home to work at ILB. Wayne was viewed as a gentle giant by all who knew him. He held his family foremost, enjoyed camping, fishing, and long drives in the country. Wayne is survived by his wife Sherrie; father Delmer; sisters Janet (Ron) Wylie and Linda (Mike) Paulin; brothers Ed Thompson and Butch (Sandy) Ledbetter; step daughter Tara (Mark) Sowden; step son Justen (Kylee) Crittenden; nine grandchildren; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Audrey (Parsons) Thompson; and brother Bill Ledbetter.
