James Perry Mitchell

James Perry Mitchell was born January 17, 1938 in the Madison / Goodlettsville area to Jack Mitchell & Francis Keen and was raised by his uncle Albert Keen and aunt Adele Keen. He passed peacefully in the Murfreesboro area on October 2, 2019 due to long term illness. He was an avid lover of automobile racing, fishing, and bowling. He had spent time in the US Army with the 101st Airborne division as a Paratrooper, and spent all of his working career as a tool and die maker crafting precision metals and tools. He was also a member of the Free Masons. He is survived by his wife Sophia Lee Mitchell; children are James Dalton & Stevie Mitchell, Jaybird & Joy Mitchell, and Jana Mitchell; grandchildren are Jaycee, Julie, Dalton, & Jorja Mitchell, Kyle & Meagan Andrews, Shannon McClasky, Jessica Nabors, and Christopher Burns, Justin (Daisy) Mitchell; great grandchildren are Ciara Brown, and Myles & CJ Andrews, Blake Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell, Skyler Mitchell. A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Monday, October 7, 2019 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include James D Mitchell, Jay Mitchell, Michael Shaw, Bud Lance, Tommy Richardson, and Casey Andrews. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service 10am until 2pm.
