PLUMMER, Marilyn Elaine
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Plummer, who entered the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
Marilyn was born in Lower Burlington, Hants County N.S. in 1941 to Embert and Kathleen Sanford. She attended school in Rockingham, Halifax County, and was subsequently employed by the Robert Simpson Company. In 1975 she married John (Jack) Edward Plummer, sealing a beautiful relationship that has endured to this day. Her interests were cooking, sewing, bird-watching and camping. She loved nature and the creatures in it, and she and Jack treasured many outings together surrounded by the beauty of the natural world.
Starting at 4 years old she faithfully attended church, and in her younger years was very involved in church activities such as choir, Sunday School and ladies groups. She was always a kind, cheerful person with a great sense of humor. Her delightful story-telling ability was a highlight of family get-togethers. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Jack and her sister Shirley Longard.
Family visitation will be Sunday, November 4,from 4-7 PM at J.A. Snow’s Funeral Home, Halifax. Memorial service is Monday, November 5, 11:00 AM at Sheffield Baptist Church, 80 Lincoln Cross, Halifax, Rev. Matthew Porter officiating. A committal service will follow at 2 PM at Riverside Cemetery, Upper Burlington, Hants County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sheffield Baptist Church, Full Gospel Church, the QE2 Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
