Obituary of Theodore Sarosy Sr.
Theodore Sarosy Sr. passed away on July 23rd at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 22, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ina and John Sarosy Sr. He proudly served our country as a veteran of the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Norma L (Bushman) Sarosy on January 19, 1952. Together they raised six children. He was the owner of Sign Asylum for many years until he devoted all of his time to work for Jim Boniminio at Jungle Jim’s International Market. His legendary oversized, creative displays, and signage continue to delight customers at both stores. He is survived by children; Theodore Sarosy Jr. (Pamela), Terry Sarosy (Victoria), Teya Salter, Todd Sarosy (Marie), and Tyra Sarosy (Rob Allen), eight grandchildren; Nikolas Sarosy (Christine), Kristina Whitney (Joshua), Bethany Sarosy, Kyle Salter (Angela), Erika Salter, Patrick Salter, Eric Sarosy (Alison), and Adam Sarosy (Courtney), nine great grandchildren; Jackson, Milo, Theodora, Aspen, Sebastian, Braden, Elizabeth, Eva, and Ella. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma of 58 years, daughter Tamra Sarosy, and grandson Matthew Varelmann. A Gathering will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 2pm until 3pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow on Sunday at 3pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Hospice of Cincinnati.
