Alojz (Slavko) Gojmerac

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alojz Gojmerac on June 28, 2019 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Anica for 45 years. Loving father of Marija, Ivan and Christina (Stan). Cherished Dide of Vanessa, Jack, Ben and Sienna. Alojz was born on May 27th, 1940 in Jesenovica, Croatia and is predeceased by his parents, Jure and Barbara. Dear brother of Marica (Vlado), Zvonko, Dragica (Jure), Ivan (Dragica), Zlata (Branko), Mika (Milka) and Steve (Vinka), Brother-in-law of Filipa Buconjic (Stanko) and Iva (Drago). Alojz will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada and Croatia. Alojz was a kind and gentle person who was a devoted family man. He always treated people with warmth and kindness. He was a philosophical soul who had a remarkable ability to keep life in perspective. He suffered from Parkinson's disease for close to a decade. Throughout all those years, he was brave and endured his condition with grace and dignity. He had an immense inner-strength and never complained about his pain and suffering. Donations in his memory may be made to Parkinson Canada. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday July 2, 2019 from 6-9 pm with Prayers at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Wednesday July 3, 2019 at 10 am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
