Obituary of Joan O' Grady
On her 79th birthday on June 3, 2019 Joan O'Grady (nee Della Vella) was taken to her new home in heaven by a host of Angels. She was guided to prepare for this journey and did so without hesitation. She met with all her family, relatives and friends to advise them that she would be leaving her earthly home to meet with her deceased family and friends who were waiting anxiously for her arrival. She informed everyone that she would miss them all and would always be with them; looking over them from her new home as she did while on this earth. Joan will be sadly missed by her daughters Donna Clewlow (Stan), Karen Davis, her grandchildren Ryan Clewlow, Shawn Clewlow, Amber Juteau and Parker Davis, as well as her only brother Richard (Trisha) DellaVella and family,as well as many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her father Norman DellaVella, mother Theresa (Serventi) DellaVella, brother Martin DellaVella and grandson Tyler Juteau. Prior to her passing Joan was constantly in the company of those who loved her dearly and had the privilege of knowing the kind, generous and passionate person she was. She was humbly grateful and most thankful to all her friends in her apartment building who assisted her in her last days, to the many who brought her food and looked in on her, especially her cousin Eileen and friends Bernie, Mary, Pearl, her ex husband of many years Joe O’Grady and Daughters Donna and Karen who were at her side daily. She will be missed by all her dancing buddies with whom she had lots of fun with. She was a loving person and not to mention a great dancer. The Angels that adorned her earthly residence now swarm her heavenly home and will forever share the joy and pleasure of her company. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Joan’s memory. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will take place at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 200 Mt. Albion Rd. on Saturday, June 8th at 11am.
