Grace Guca

Ida “Grace” Guca (age 69) reunited with the love of her life and husband of 35 years Bob, along with their oldest daughter Donna early Thursday morning September 12th, 2019 in their home surrounded by their daughters Ann and Tanya. Grace was a strong, dedicated, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Many remember her as being fun and full of life and love. She enjoyed many hobbies, such as crafting, sewing, cross stitch, woodworking, puzzles, gardening, ghost hunting, bird watching, reading, cooking, and making fruit salad. She could do anything she put her mind to, except electrical work! She loved working beside her husband remodeling their homes over the years together, but her best memories are of them holding hands walking though home improvement stores together. She had a smile that lit up any room she entered and a wit about her that kept you laughing for days. She always offered a shoulder when needed, a great laugh no matter what, a sweet treat, slam sandwich or cup of coffee. She was always understanding and enjoyed hours of conversations about everyday things. She knew how to make simple things special. Every Christmas she spent days making Chex mix and cookies for her family, enough to last everyone a month. She always kept everyone’s feet warm with the gift of new socks. Family vacations were so important to her, it was a time to catch up and reconnect near the water where she and her husband dreamt of retiring. She will be missed deeply by those who knew and loved her. Grace is survived by her daughters: Ann Judge (Ed), Tanya Guca (Rich) and 7 grandchildren: Matthew, Joshua, Brandon, Emily, Lauren, Ella, and Henry; her oldest brother Jim; her youngest brother mike; and her companion of 15 years, Ed. A celebration of life will take place Friday, September 20th from 5 PM to 8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland IN. In lieu of flowers Grace wished for donations to be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
