Thomas Lee O’Connor, age 36, of Houston, Texas, passed unexpectedly, June 4, 2019.
Tommy was born in Secaucus, New Jersey, on November 29,1982. He graduated from Spring High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Biology and master’s degree in Education from Sam Houston State University.
Tommy was full of energy and had a spark that lit up any room. His love of science led him to be a constant learner. He always had an answer to someone’s question or knew how to fix almost everything. His many hobbies included weather forecasting, cooking, photography, surfing, fishing, bug collecting, bird watching, traveling, and hosting crawfish boils with family and friends. He had a passion for the ocean, which made him a rock star aquatic science teacher at Cypress Lakes High School. He loved teaching and adored his students. Tommy was a role model to many, and his nieces and nephews looked up to him as the “cool uncle”. However, no one could make him smile more than his 4-year old daughter, Vanessa, “V”. Tommy was an amazing daddy and loving husband.
Tommy is survived by his wife of ten years, Alanna B. O’Connor and his daughter, Vanessa G. O’Connor. Also surviving are his parents, James and Sandra O’Connor, brother Jason O’Connor, many nieces and nephews, and beloved family and friends.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Tommy touched are invited to celebrate his life with us on Monday, June 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek, located at 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston TX 77095
