Vera Audrey Hine
November 23, 1949 – August 24, 2019

Vera Audrey Hine, 69 years old, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24th. She was born in Houston, Texas to Aubrey James Turner and Arlene Loretta Bressler Turner. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1968. She was married to David Alan Hine on April 27, 1969 and they were happily married (for almost 50 years!) until David’s passing in May of last year.
Vera worked in an administrative/financial advisory capacity for Merrill Lynch during her time in the workforce, for many years.
She had a passion for fishing and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Rocker, son in law Bradley Rocker, daughter Kristine Hamlin, son in law David Hamlin, daughter Brandy Farrar, son in law David Farrar, grandchildren Ashton Rocker, Sarah Rocker, Emily Rocker, Daniel Farrar, and Ashton’s wife Rachel Rocker and great grandson Bradley Rocker. Her family also includes her sisters Deborah Estep, Charles Turner, Darren Turner, and sister in law Julia Hine. She is predeceased by her beloved husband David Hine, her sister Lois Turner, and her parents, Aubrey James Turner and Arlene Loretta Bressler Turner.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 13th (yes! Friday the 13th!) at noon with interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband David.
