Obituary of Walter Lee Nauling
Life Reflections Our dearest mom, grandmother, cousin and friend, Mrs. Walter Lee Rogers Nauling, departed this life on September 26, 2019 at 7:05 p.m. Mother Nauling was born on March 15, 1919 to parents Minnie Lee Rogers and Walter Rogers. She has one brother CJ Rogers. Mother Nauling grew up in Shiro, Texas and attended Wesley Grove High School. Mother Nauling was married to Wilbert Nauling at the age of sixteen and remained married for fifty-three years until she was widowed in 1988. Mother Nauling moved to Houston in 1956 and has been a resident for the past sixty-three years. She has enjoyed caring for her family, sewing and making clothes for her children; and Mother Nauling has been a long standing member of Bethany Baptist Church for more than forty years. She proudly serves on the Mother’s Board and is a member of the BBC Warriors Seniors’ Ministry. Being the oldest member of Bethany Baptist Church, she has acquired the Honorary title of “Mother of the Church”. Mother Nauling has a rich legacy that includes twelve children, fifty-eight grandchildren, one hundred thirty-seven great grandchildren and one hundred forty-one great-great-grandchildren, who know her affectionately as "Madear". Tribute 100 years of memories and 100 years of life, you are very special and surely honor is due for all the great experiences that life has given you. " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8 A Tribute to our Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother. MaDear you were the strongest, most wise woman we have ever known. We will never forget the values and wisdom you instilled in us since we were little children. We don't know if there will ever be another person on this earth that has the ability to raise her own kids, their kids, and their kids as well as others all while taking care of business. There is no love like MaDear's love. You worked hard to establish what we should be as a family and kept us together. A piece of us is gone and it hurts more than anything ever before. Our only solace at this moment is we know an angel is watching over us. God has a real fighter on his side now and you will be missed more than you could ever know. We love you forever. Love your Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. God's Garden God looked around his garden, And He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this Earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and Lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered " Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Love, Your Children Our Sincere Gratitude The family of Walter Lee Rogers Nauling is sincerely grateful for the many prayers, comforting words, act of sympathy, flowers, cards, telephone calls, food and other thoughtful deeds. There was and is such comfort in the assurance that we were and still are not alone during this period of bereavement. Because you cared, were praying too, that all of God's blessings will be showered on you in abundant measures. Special Thanks to all the loving staff at Brookhollow Heights Transitional Care Center.
