Alexander Mitrokostas, 94, of West Yarmouth, died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 5, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Ecaterini (Litsis) Mitrokostas.

Alexander was born in the village of Krapsi, Epirus in Greece. He came to the United States in 1955 and settled in Worcester, MA where he met his loving wife Ecaterini.

Alexander was the co-founder with his brother and business partner of 40 years of New England Pizza in Hyannis. After his retirement in 1993, he relished spending time with all of his grandchildren and hosting large family gatherings.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Spyro Mitrokostas and wife Krista Mitrokostas of West Yarmouth, MA, Dino Mitrokostas of Mashpee, MA, Paul Mitrokostas and wife Shari Prussin Mitrokostas of Wellesley, MA; his sister Antigone Malitas of Harwich, MA and his nine beloved grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brothers Christos and Vasilios Mitrokostas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8th from 4 to 7PM at Doane, Beal & Ames, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis, MA. Funeral Services will take place at 10AM on Monday, September 9th at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd, Centerville, MA. A committal service will follow at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Cape Cod or Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod – Hospice, 434 Route 134, S. Dennis, MA 02660.

I cannot express enough how it saddens me of your loss. I totally understand how you must be feeling. You have been so strong through all of this .
Andreas was so helpful to both of you and I am so proud to have seen how he could get Alex to
smile and know how much he could communicate with Alex. All his grandchildren should be proud of themselves for being there for both of you during such trying times. We will always be there for you. You have such a wonderful and loving family.
