Josephine "Jose" Doucet, age 94, passed away in the early morning hours of March 12, 2019, peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Josephine was born in Inverness on October 20, 1924. Jose’ led an active life, loved skating, country music, and scotch music (especially good fiddle music). She had amazing skill and took great pride as a phenomenal homemaker. If there had been a professional ranking for her skills as a cook, baker, and home management she would have been at the highest level as she always brought lots of good food to the table! Hard work was expected.
Jose’ “the perfectionist” also taught the importance of good values, family, and was proud to live a “good clean life”. She loved a good joke, good game of cards, and a cup of hot tea (scalding). She also had artistic crafting skills crocheting mats, needle point, ceramic pottery, decorating; always leading to a clean and tidy home. She loved a good box of chocolates and home-made squares.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Paul Angus Doucet; sisters, Rosalia, Regina; brother, Francis (Red). She is survived by her children, Francis Gordon, Paula Marie, and Darryl Thomas (Nicolette) Doucet; grandchildren, Dylan Thomas, Madeleine Jose’ Maria, and Aaron Paul Cornelis Doucet, siblings, Rita (late Alex) Gillis, Muriel (late Hughie) MacDonald, Mary Ellison, Camilla (late Gerald) Tompkins, James (Chris) MacIsaac, numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
