Gerald “Gary” V. Blair –
Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the age of 87, at his home in the loving care of Hospice and his family. Gary is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Barb (Dayna), Don (Sheila), Kathy (Mark) Elsesser, and Bruce Grabert; his step children, Ed (Rebecca) Rogers, Trudy Wiles, Deborah (James) Cooper, Sheila (Pat) Bowman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Wilma (Dene); his oldest daughter, Sue Grabert; and brother, Dale (Virginia) Blair. Gary was born in Napoleon, Ohio to Melvin and Alberta (Mohler) Blair on March 1, 1932. After graduating from Napoleon High School he served in the United States Army. He enjoyed travelling. His ingenuity was ahead of its time. He was a jack of all trades having remodeled several homes in the area; he had many different careers including farming, factory work, truck driving. He was instrumental in starting Blair Nationwide Trucking. A service honoring his life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Tim Flickinger officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, Meals On Wheels, or a charity of your choice.
