Obituary of Mable Azbill Webb
Mable Azbill Webb, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 11, 2019. She was born in Madison County, the daughter of James henry and Lula Scott Azbill who preceded in her death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Webb; brothers, Ruble and Hubert Azbill; and sisters, Golden Watlington, Zelma Carney, Zula Azbill, Opal Williams, and Bonnie Raney. Mable was a homemaker and faithful member of Parkburg Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught an adult ladies Sunday School Class and was in the Women's Missionary Union. Through her leadership, stained glass windows were installed in her church. Mable was known for her beautiful handmade quilts for which she won many awards. Several of her quilts were featured in Best Loved Quilt Patterns published by Oxmoor House. Her most famous was her Signature Quilt where she sent pieces of muslin to celebrities in all walks of life asking for their signatures. This quilt has signatures from Jimmy Carter, Lady Bird Johnson, John Glenn, Sandra Day O'Conner, and many others. To her grandchildren she was known for her delicious homemade rolls. Mable is survived by her sons, Bradford L. Webb and wife Mickie and James R. (Dick) Webb and wife, Hope; three grandchildren, Gregory Webb of Camden, Angela Bumpus (Scott) of Jackson, and Andrew Webb (Rachel) of Jackson; five great grandchildren, Haiden Diffee, Emma Webb, Everett Webb, Carter Bumpus, and Brandon Bumpus; one sister, Nellie Wyatt and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and loved ones at a period of visitation to be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service is to be conducted at 1 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Bro. Jerry Barker and Bro. Danny Rachel officiating. Burial will follow in Parkburg Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve will be Lynn Nanney, Glynn Nanney, Ronald Davis, Phillip Allen, Larry Homesley, and Ronnie Robison.
