Robert Dale Knight

Robert Dale Knight, age 70 of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Forest Cove in Jackson. He was born on August 12, 1949 in Madison County to the late Robert Cleveland and Cathern Ragan Knight. He was a graduate of South Side High School, class of 1967 and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Memphis State University. He worked for many years for the State of Tennessee and most recently as a Stocker for Food Giant Grocery Store. Robert was compassionate, kind-hearted, sometimes stubborn, but was a loving brother and friend. He was a brilliant man. He is survived by his two sisters, Barbara Knight of Bemis and Cathy Templeton of Jackson; and one niece, Jennie Keel (Jayson) of Jackson; great niece and nephew, Josie and Eli Keel; his aunt, Loraine Mays and many friends and cousins. The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 12-2 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2 p.m at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial following in Parkburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
