Lorie L. McCleary, 49, passed from this life on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at her home in Holden, Missouri. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 9am to 11am on Saturday, June 8th at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, where a Celebration of Her Life will begin at 10:30am. A reception will follow Lorie’s Life Celebration at the Eagles Lodge, 1969 North 63rd Drive in Kansas City, Kansas. A Private Interment will be held at a later date in Maple Hill Cemetery. Lorie was born June 19, 1969 in Kansas City, Kansas to Arthur James “A. J.” Drury, Jr. and Linda L. (Nolan) Drury. She loved to travel, but she was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City Area. She was a Camp Fire Girl, and a member of the Drill Team at J. C. Harmon High School, where she graduated in 1987. In these early years, she met and fell in love with her best friend, Rick McCleary. They were married February 15, 1986. After starting her career as a Home Maker, Lorie never wanted to do anything else. She loved her family so much, she dedicated her life to caring for all of them, both young and old. Lorie loved all God’s Creatures, and after moving to Holden in 2008, she was able to fulfill her passion of caring for them as well. She kept dogs, chickens, ducks, goats and horses, and she loved them all. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her dad, and her brother, Arthur “Art” James Drury, III, and her step-dad, Jerry McQueen. Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Rick L. McCleary, 2 sons, Rick “Little Rick” L. McCleary, Jr. and Matt McCleary, along with his wife, Emily; her mother, Linda McQueen; 5 grandchildren, Rick “Ricky” L. McCleary, III, Tre Roshevits, Zoey McCleary, Caleb McCleary, and Isaac McCleary; 1 brother-in-law, Tom McCleary; 4 sisters-in-law, Sandy Patrzykont, Sharon Randle, Carolyn Stiles, and Tammy Robinette; 30 Nieces & Nephews; many aunts, uncles & cousins; and countless close friends.
