James G. Cates

James George Cates, born March 18th, 1944, age 39 (for the last 36 years) of Kansas City, MO went to be with his father's in heaven Tuesday, May 7, 2019. To all that know him he was a very loving Father, Papa, Husband, Brother and Friend. He loved to fish, bowl, loved his Royals, Chiefs and Jimmy Johnson. He will be missed by all who knew him, including his wife Liz Cates, sons Jim Cates and Josh Cates, daughters Rachel Cates and Patti Cates, and grandchildren Shaianne Jefferson, Adrian White, Libby Cates, Jordan Cates, Joshua M. Cates and Joshua P. Cates. He is welcomed home by his daughter Beth Cates. His most important priority on earth was his family, sisters Sally Steele (husband Dick), Theresa Moreno (husband Richard), Rita Tarantino (husband Joe), Karen Padilla (husband Joe) and Janette Stevens (husband Steve) and many many many nieces and nephews. It was a well-kept secret but his mistress Britney Spears will not be attending services, but Shakira might. We thank God for our time with him and know Dad lived a full awesome life. No more pain.
