Nancy Irene Frakes

Nancy Irene Frakes, age 85, passed away on April 29, 2019 at her home in Selma, Indiana while surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on May 14, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Wilmer and Amy (Whitlatch) Pearson. On September 14, 1950, Nancy was married to William V. Frakes at Trinity Wesleyan Church in Kokomo. William preceded Nancy in passing on October 3, 1987. Nancy was a faithful member of Trinity Wesleyan, and served as the organist there for over 50 years. She had also worked for Delco Electronics in Kokomo for 33 years, retiring in 1996. In addition to playing the organ, Nancy would keep herself occupied in her free time by crocheting and cooking. More than anything, Nancy was very family-oriented, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her children, David (Shirley) Frakes, Amy (Mike) Wells, Carol (Mike) Gibson, and Russell (Frankie) Frakes. She also leaves several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by two grandchildren and her brother and sister. She was also preceded in death by her Aunt Frankie, whom Nancy was a caregiver to for more than ten years. There will be a public visitation for Nancy held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4th from 11-1, followed immediately by a funeral service. Nancy will then be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
