Obituary of Donald Malcolm Macallister
Don passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 18/18 at the young age of 76. When final, tearful goodbyes were said, Don was surrounded by the greatest loves of his life, his family. Don has left a huge hole in the hearts of his loving family. His wife Velma of 55 years, daughter Debbie (Royce), sons Darren (Allison), Dale (Shabrina) and Daughter-in-law Marcey (Joseph). Devastated by his sudden passing are the greatest joys of his life.....his grandchildren. Mark, Kelly, Lauren, Brett, Alanna, Malcolm, Alissa, Zack and Austin. Don wore many hats, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Santa Claus, and Volunteer Extraordinaire. Don loved life to the fullest each and every day and had a knack of making friends everywhere he went. He always saw the best in people, and was always the first one to jump in and help when needed. Don loved telling stories and had great wisdom to share, and even managed to teach his doctors something amazing. Something they had only read about in medical journals but had never witnessed firsthand. But then again, that was Don - AMAZING!! Everyone who had the honour and pleasure of knowing Don, knew without a doubt, he was truly a selfless man. That selflessness was evident in his final dying wish, to carry on a life by being an organ donor. Enough said. Please join us to celebrate Don’s amazing life on July 22/18 from 1pm-4pm at the Langley Golf Centre. Don’s Celebration of Life will be Hawaiian themed (his second favourite place in the world next to home) so please come dressed in your best “Maui Don” attire, and, if you’re a car collector....BRING YOUR WHEELS!” In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Don’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
