Audrey Jean Ellis

The family of Audrey Jean Ellis are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on October 30, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Audrey was the beloved wife of the late James Peter Ellis. Left to mourn her passing are daughter Marla Ellis (Allan Baker) and their son Jeffrey Rice (Meggan), her daughter Jennifer Foss (Tom) and their sons Steven Boyd (Julia), Scott Boyd (Malia) and Glenn Boyd, her daughter Susan Parker (Scott) and their children Nicole Parker (Luke Dunham), Lauren Parker (Braden Jakubowski), Camille, Adam and Derek Parker. Audrey was also a proud Great Grandmother to Olivia and Logan Boyd. Also mourning her passing is her special sister in law, Hazel Ellis, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews in Ontario and BC. Audrey was pre-deceased by her brother Glenn (Lynne) and brother in law Phil Ellis. Audrey was born and raised in Merrickville, Ontario and taught elementary school prior to being married and starting her family. Audrey and Jim married in Merrickville in July 1959. In 1964, they moved to Vancouver, BC where they raised their girls. Audrey and Jim moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1995 until relocating back to Vancouver in 2007. Upon Jim's passing in 2012, Audrey made a final move back to Alberta to be closer to more family. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile, where she made many special friends and wonderful memories. Although Audrey had Parkinson's disease in the last 10 years of her life, she was brave and courageous and always so positive. She unfailingly had a smile and a warm hello for everyone she encountered. Audrey was a loving Mom and Grandmother and will be missed dearly. She was a true lady - full of grace and love. The family would like to thank Lifestyle Options Leduc, Dr. Brad Stewart, Dr. S. Taylor, Dr. Wong, Dr. Parrington and the staff of Unit 22 Special Care at Leduc Community Hospital for their wonderful care of our mother during her time in Leduc and in hospital. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 4416-50th Street Leduc, AB on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in Audrey's memory can be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, #120 - 6835 Railway St S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 2V6.
