Obituary of Linda Pearl Hetzner
Linda (McHugh) Hetzner was born to John and Pearl McHugh on August 2nd, 1953, in Empress, Alberta. Linda was the sixth child born to a family of ten, six girls and four boys. Linda lived in Sibbald until 1958 and then moved to Camrose, Alberta with her mother Pearl, and brothers and sisters. Her father continued to farm in the Ester area until 1963. Linda would travel along with her mother and siblings to live at the farm in Ester for the month of July every year. Her father sold the farm in Ester in 1962 and bought a farm in Bawlf, Alberta in 1963. Linda attended school in Camrose for grades one to four and then Bawlf school for grades five to twelve. On November 13, 1971, Linda married Grant Hetzner and they welcomed three children, Jeanette in 1973, Brandie in 1975, and George in 1977. Grant and Linda moved onto Grant’s families’ home quarter in 1972 and farmed along with Grant’s father and mother, George and Melba Hetzner, until 1990. Linda was an amazing farm wife. You could find her doing anything from hauling grain, vaccinating cattle or butchering chickens to cooking, cleaning, and sewing clothes. From the farm they moved to Falun, Alberta where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1995 they sold and moved to an acreage near Wetaskiwin, Alberta and from there would move into Wetaskiwin. Grant passed away in 2015 and Linda moved to Leduc, Alberta in 2017, where she resided until her passing. Some of her jobs after selling the farm and her children were grown included, The Pipestone store, the meat department at Sobeys, Walmart, Chiropractic assistant, housekeeper at the Wetaskiwin General Hospital, and finally her last and most cherished position was caring for her granddaughters Peyton and Jayden after school. Linda’s greatest passion was her family. Her children were her pride and joy and later, her grandchildren. Her happiest moments were spent creating memories with them. Loving and laughing with her grown children and their families, trips to Mexico, Yuma and British Columbia, and spending time with her siblings, as well as many friends and loved ones. Linda was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her spirit was one of love and gentleness to all who knew her. She always had a kind word and a helping hand. To know Linda, was to love her. She will be forever loved, and forever missed by her family. Linda is survived by her loving children, Jeanette (Phil) Kurney and grandchildren, Dylan, Michelle and Nicholas; Brandie Hetzner (Kelly Kraal) and grandchildren Peyton and Jayden; George (Holly) Hetzner and grandchildren Gavin and Kylen as well as her siblings Shirley Brown, Lillian (Jim) Schatz, Donna (Willie) Blatz, Eileen McHugh, MaryLou (Gordon) Kiddine, Pat (Ann) McHugh and Tom (Darlene) McHugh, sister-in-law Marion (Stan) Kontek and father-in-law George (Helen) Hetzner, aunt Eileen Moncrieff and numerous nieces and nephews.
