Victor Clifford Kimball

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor “Vic” Clifford Kimball. He passed away peacefully in his home in Leduc, Alberta on Saturday May 4th, 2019, at 8:25pm, at the age of 70, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his spouse Cindy, three daughters Marla (with wife Kaila), Sarina, and Jolynn (with spouse Ian), two step sons Derek and Justin, grandchildren Breydon, Alysha, Evelyn, and Audrey, his four brothers, Morris, Kenneth, Allan, and Ivan, his Auntie “big sister” Carole (with husband Don), and his cat Fiona. Vic was pre-deceased by his parents Clifford and Kathleen Kimball (maiden name Connelly). Victor was born in Wainwright, AB on July 17th, 1948. He was the second of 5 boys – Morris, Victor, Kenneth, Allan, and Ivan in that order. They moved around a few times when Victor was young, living in Viking, Stony Plain, Edgerton, Spruce Grove, and in 1962 they moved in to the house in Meadowlark, which is still in the family to this day. Victor started school in Stony Plain, and finished school at Jasper Place High School. He also spent a lot of his time at the Guy farm in Edgerton in his childhood when he wasn’t in school, and his time and memories there influenced him his whole life. He could do pretty much anything, and had many different jobs in his life, some of which included trucking, crane operating, carpentry, painting, auto body work, and mechanicing. Victor met Joanna in the 70’s and his three daughters were born – Marla in 1977, Sarina in 1979, and Jolynn in 1987. They lived in the two-story house on 76th avenue for many years. Victor went on to meet Cindy Tymchyna in 2001, and they were together for 18 years until he passed away. They moved out to Leduc in 2005. Cindy also brought her two sons into our family – Derek and Justin. Victor was very proud of his grand children, Breydon, Alysha, Evelyn, and Audrey. He spent countless hours at Brey and Aly’s games, and holding the babies and making them laugh, and would immediately light up if any of them was in the room. He never missed a chance to tell them he loved them. We would like to thank everyone that stopped by to visit him in the last couple weeks, or dropped by this last week to drop off food and give hugs, thank you for the calls and texts, thank you to those who sent flowers, thank you to Dad’s best bud Grandpa Garry who will be playing Dad’s favorite songs on Saturday, thank you to Dad’s good buddy Carl who paid for the hall to celebrate his life. And a huge thank you to the EMS Emergency staff and funeral home staff that came to the house and gently helped us through the difficult evening on May 4th. To sum it up: If anyone knew our dad, they knew he was a practical guy, and he would probably be saying something now like “well nothing is sure in life but death and taxes, and the Oilers not making the playoffs” or “gotta go sometime, might as well be now”. Knowing this helps us through. Dad loved to tell stories, he was a straight talker, loved to garden, fix, and build things. He was a dreamer, he was fun loving, and he definitely did not trust the government. He had a big heart and he was a proud man who loved his family dearly. We will not be the same and we are not sure what we will do without him in our lives, but we will figure it out and we’ll be OK, because that’s exactly what he would tell us to do.
