Obituary of Jeffrey Wade Waller
Jeff was raised in Lincoln, NE and went to Lincoln East High School. He received a business degree from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was a truly kind-hearted soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was voracious reader and loved to go to the library. He was always on a quest for knowledge be it regarding politics, sports, music, current events or random obscurities. He had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. Jeff loved the outdoors, cooking, listening to podcasts, dogs and children. He read the Washington Post daily and then to get a fair and balanced view, he listened to Fox News! He was a big sports fan. He was a Miami Dolphins fan from a very young age. He rooted for the Cubs and of course, the Huskers. He truly enjoyed NBA Basketball and knew all sorts of stats and history. He took up running as an adult and proudly finished 5 half-marathons. Jeff’s greatest love though was his son. He was so proud of all of Jackson’s accomplishments and talents. He loved to watch him perform at dance or theater and would often have a video to share from his latest production. He enjoyed taking Jackson camping or hanging out together at the lake. They had some wild video game battles as well. Christmas was always big for him and he tried to find the gift that would bring Jackson a thrill. He loved to watch Jackson’s face light up with delight. Jeff is survived by his son, Jackson; parents Richard and Joan Waller; sister, Kristin Waller Hannahs (Jeff); brother, Troy Waller (Shelly); niece, Alyssa and nephew, Cole. We will all miss hearing the door open and him coming around the corner with a big smile saying “What’s happening?”
