Obituary of Johanna W.P. Veilleux-Trommelen
VEILLEUX-TROMMELEN, JOHANNA PETRONELLA WILLHELMINA passed suddenly at the age of 74 at Victoria Hospital in London Ontario on Saturday, October 27th. She has joined her loving husband pre-deceased, Joseph Isidore Marius (Jim) Veilleux. Johanna will be remembered along with her sister pre-deceased, Corrie (Bill) Nelson and is survived by her brother John (Lynda)Trommelen and sisters Henrietta (Paul) Farr and Jane (Brian) Miller. Caring mother to Mike (Monica), Marc (Andrea), Micki (William) Izzard, James and Anthony (Krista) and loving Oma to her grandchildren and great grandsons. Johanna immigrated from Holland with her family, landing in Halifax in 1953. After partnering with Jim, they moved from place to place to place in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba, growing a family together as he was transferred about while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Johanna will be remembered for her passionate involvement over many years in the Girl Guide movement and will be missed by numerous friends in that community. Not content to semi-retire from guiding, she continued giving of herself, delivering readings during masses as well as other volunteering at St. Justin’s Parish in London. Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 5th from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at NEEDHAM FUNERAL HOME, 520 Dundas St., London, ON N6B 1W6 (519-434-9141). Memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Johanna directed to Girl Guides of Canada would be appreciated.
