Maria M Beadle

Peacefully at home with her husband and sons at her side, Maria Beadle (R.N. Vic 1969) passed on May 21st, 2019. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, David. Fondly remembered by her sons Mike (Linda), Mark (Stephanie), and Steve (Jamie). Sister to Bert (Faye) and sister-in-law to Dianne (Gord). Loving Grandmother to Sarah, Emily, Emma, Adam, Joseph, William, Finley and Dallas. Maria was a friend to many. Maria was a registered nurse who found her calling in Palliative Care. She was a kind, compassionate mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend. She volunteered her time to many important causes including the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, where she helped author their handbook. Part of the team that developed “EDITH” Expected Death In The Home, that continues to be used by clinicians today. “EDITH” was used at Maria’s passing. It is fitting that she was able to be at home surrounded by her boys. Maria enjoyed life to the fullest despite being affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. The family wants to thank all the friends who supported us through this journey. Special thanks to all neighbors and friends in the Riverbend Community and the staff at Country Terrace Nursing Home in Komoka for their care and understanding. Thanks to the women from VON who kept Maria comfortable when she was home. Thanks to Julie Campbell and her team from MAiD program who allowed Maria to leave on her own terms with dignity. Cremation has taken place. We will remember her in special places at the farm, the lake and in our hearts. A celebration of Maria’s life will occur on June 30th at the Riverbend Gold Community Club House 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
