Hollis Cogburn

Hollis L. Cogburn was born March 19, 1928 to Tom and Monteray Smith Cogburn in Old Glory, Texas. He married Melva Bartley on May 27, 1950. They raised their two children, Danny and Marinda in Lubbock, Texas. Hollis made his living as an auto parts broker, traveling all over the United States. He will be remembered as a strong, wise man with a kind heart. He adored his great-grandchildren, windmills, collecting (especially bells), and his two dogs, Suzie and Coco. Hollis is survived by his wife, Melva; daughter Marinda and husband, Jimmy Pharr; grandchildren Tangela Lovering, Nick Coffman, Jacob Tyler, Rami Belanger, Jason Pharr, Travis Pharr and their spouses; and his eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Danny Cogburn in 2003. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10 am at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
