Obituary of Alice E. Mahoney
Mrs. Alice E. (LeBrasseur) Mahoney, 81, of Lynn passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Paul W. Mahoney, Sr. Alice was born in Lynn, September 24, 1937. She is the daughter of the late Albert J. and Beatrice E. (DesFosses) LeBrasseur. She was a lifelong resident of the city of Lynn and a graduated from St. Jean’s Grammar School and Classical High School. Alice worked as a Home Health Aide for Cushman Care at Home for many years until her retirement. She also worked for Joe Esdra the “Tax Man” for over 50 years. She was the warden during City Elections serving at Drewicz for 60 years. Alice enjoyed family BBQ’s. She was a long time communicant at Sacred Heart Church where she also taught CCD. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting and was a founding member of the “Stitch ‘n’ Bitch”. Alice is survived by her six children Paul W. Mahoney, Jr. and his wife Melanie of Salem, Richard A. Mahoney and his wife Julie of Georgetown, Thomas B. Mahoney and his wife Jeanne of Lynn, Daniel G. Wills-Mahoney of Lynn, Ann Marie Beaupre and her husband James of Pelham, NH and Michael R. Mahoney and his wife Dawn of McConnellsburg, PA. Her brothers and sisters Rita M. Bukur of AZ, Claire L. LeBrasseur of Lynn, Elaine A. DellaGrotte of Peabody, Robert G. LeBrasseur of Lynn and Paul E. LeBrasseur of Lynn. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Paul and her parents, Alice is predeceased by her granddaughter Katelynn Mahoney, her son-in-law Henry J. Wills-Mahoney, her brother Albert H. LeBrasseur and her sister Janet F. Byrne. Alice’s visiting hours will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St Lynn on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4-8 PM. Her Funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 9:30 AM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Boston St., Lynn at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Jean Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
