Elaine P Wiedmann

Elaine Wiedmann (nee Marasco), 90, of Barnegat, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 at the Princeton Care Center in Princeton, NJ. Elaine was born in Newark, New Jersey on November 14th, 1928. She attended Barringer High School in Newark, NJ where, after graduation, she pursued her dream of becoming a dress designer and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. On May 7, 1951, she married William “Bill” Wiedmann. Within the following decade, Elaine and Bill were blessed with five children: Patti, Bill, Bob, Jimmy, and Rick. Elaine was a beloved mother and grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing; cooking, baking, the beach, long walks, backyard cookouts and holidays with her family. After raising their children, Elaine and Bill retired from Nutley, NJ to Barnegat, NJ, where they enjoyed the social activities of likeminded friends and family visits. Elaine loved traveling with her husband and friends. Some of her favorite memories included trips across the US and Europe. Her greatest joy was seeing her family grow up to become responsible and loving parents. Elaine is survived by her daughter Patricia Sullivan (Michael), her sons William (Patricia), Robert (Karen), James (Lisbet), and Richard (Cathy); her grandchildren Mathew, Kaitlyn, Adam, Dane, Jeffery, Samantha, Alex, Rachel, Cory, Jesse, Rebecca, Kerianne, and Thomas; and her great-grandchildren Marley, Ryker, McKinley, Arlo, Chase, and Demitry. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. William The Abbot Roman Catholic Church, 2740 Allenwood Lakewood Rd., Howell NJ. on June 24th. A private Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Donations may be made to the Nutley Family Service Bureau , 155 Chestnut Street, Nutley, NJ 07110 (www.nutleyfamily.org) The Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ was entrusted with the arrangements.
