Julie Levesque Periou

Julie Levesque Periou, dearly loved by husband, Leon Henry Periou, children, family and friends, went peacefully to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018. Julie is now in heaven with her parents, Gaston and Myrtle Levesque; her brother, Gunder Levesque; and her in-laws Harry and Rita Periou. She will be deeply missed by her husband and their children Aaron (Ashley), Laura LaBorde (Brad), and Thomas (fiancé Virginia); grandchildren Charlie and Russell LaBorde; siblings Susan Pollet (Grant), Vance (Sandra), Tim Caire and Lydia Duplantier (Gary); countless family, friends, and fellow parishioners of St. Benilde Catholic Church. Julie attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grammar school and Archbishop Chapelle High School. She graduated from LSU in accounting, where she met Leon, her husband of 40 years. After raising her children, she worked in Human Resources for 10 years at Loyola University. In her spare time, Julie enjoyed gardening, bird watching, painting bird houses, as well as making homemade cards and bookmarks with pressed flowers. She was an active member of St. Benilde parish, Jefferson Performing Arts Society and the Leading Ladies Guild. She enjoyed line dancing with her sisters and friends as a member of the Dancin’ Queens. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1pm at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division St. in Metairie. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family desires that donations be made in her name to the charities close to Julie’s heart: Ozanam Inn and St. Vincent de Paul.
