Jimmie Washington Jones was born September 12, 1949 in Millry, Alabama, to the late William C. and Robertha Beech Jones and was called home August 8, 2019 in Mobile, Alabama. He served this grateful nation by enlisting in the United States Army, Jimmie was a member of First Church of God; where he enjoyed worshiping his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He always enjoyed reading the gospel, attending church and listening to gospel music on the radio. Jimmie was raised in the United Methodist Children’s Home, where he would visit regularly to show his appreciation. He always like traveling, singing, eating out with friends, watching TV, playing with his companion (man’s best friend) Baby, visiting the park, and wrestling. Jimmie would make sure tithing was a priority in his life, donating money for missionary works and church activities. He had a love for his mother like non-other. Left to cherish the memories of Jimmie will be his two siblings: Jerry Wayne Jones and Annie Rowe, Joann Jones DeLoach and husband Richard, four family friends: Earline Graves, Robin Bailey, Roy Graves, Kathryn Blackstock along with many extended family members and a number of great friends. In honor of Jimmie Washington Jones memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital --stjude.org/giftplanning, Wounded Warrior Project—by phone 855-448-3997-support.woundedwarriorproject.org, any church building fund or charity of choice. The family would like to extend their warmest and sincerest gratitude to Jimmie’s caregiver for over 24 years; Earline Graves, the doctors and staff of Mobile Infirmary, and Pastor Bynum for the dedicated prayer and worship sessions, the care and compassion provided through the years.
