Anthony Clifford Gardner, age 64, of Nacogdoches passed away surrounded by love Wednesday, June 19 in Nacogdoches.
Tony was born July 17, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to Jack and Esther (Benson) Gardner.
In 1971 Tony enlisted in the U.S. Army. While stationed at Ft. Hood, Tony met the love of his life Debbie and the two married June 9, 1973. In 1975 he was honorably discharged from the Army as Sgt., E5. After that being a husband and father became his most important and meaningful job.
Tony is survived by his wife, Debra Gardner (Woman); daughter Beckie (Gardner) and son-in-law Chip Henson; daughter Kristina (Tiener Wiener) and son-in-law Cory Lyons; daughter Jennifer (Bean) and son-in-law Chris Banks (Cowboy); sister Jacquelyn Roskoski; sister Denise and brother-in-law Kenneth Geiger; sister Darlene and brother-in-law Joseph Lauritz; Grandchildren: Alyssa, Brittany, Kevin (Goob), Sydney, Brandon, Kyle, Andrew (Homer), Ashton, Kayde, Asher (Little Goob), Kylee, Ella, Clare (Floater) and Carson (Paws); great-grandchildren: Madison, Lainee and Savannah; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his father Jack Gardner and mother Esther (Benson).
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf in the Austin Room. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tony’s favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches.
