CDR Hal Rodger Halenza, USN Retired, of New Braunfels, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Kirkwood Manor Center. He was born to Gottlieb Ferdinand Halenza and Violet (Rodgers) Halenza in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 7, 1930. He is survived by his loving wife Leone Halenza of New Braunfels; daughter Judy Vallejo and husband Pedro of New Braunfels; son Rod Halenza and wife Kristi of Islamorada, FL; sister Shirley Harleen and husband Carl of Oakland, CA; 5 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Judd Halenza. A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Zoeller Funeral Home.
