Stanley "Sticker" Plocharczyk

Stanley “Sticker” Plocharczyk, Sticker passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the age of 97. He was born on March 7, 1922 in New Britain and attended Washington Junior High, New Britain High School and Goodwin Tech. Sticker was married to Jean (Iskra) Plocharczyk for 69 years. After serving in the Navy on the USS Bougainville in the South Pacific arena from 1944-1946 he returned to New Britain and went into business with his brother Tony. Together they started Plocharczyk Brothers Builders building homes in New Britain. Sticker went to work as a tool and die maker at Harvard Precision Components until, after 3 attempts, he retired in 2002, from PDQ in Rocky Hill, at the age of 80. With Jean and his family they lived on Biruta Street where they enjoyed many happy times with the Malinowski Family and then moved to Merigold Drive and most recently lived in Farmington, CT. Sticker is predeceased by his brothers Louis, Walter, Anthony, Joseph and Eddy and his sisters Pauline and Mary. His family includes his daughter Janet Westall and husband Steven of Plymouth, CT, son Peter Plocharczyk and his wife Paula of Bristol, daughter Nancy and her partner Howard of Onset, MA, son Jeffrey and wife Debra of Westbrook, CT. Sticker has 4 grandchildren Brenna Kirk of Denver, CO, Lauren Jones of Bristol, Michael Plocharczyk and his wife Sarah of Eliot, ME and Tara Plocharczyk of Boston, MA. Sticker was very devoted to his family and cherished all the good times spent together, especially fishing with his brother Joe and his sons Jeff and Peter. We will all miss him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. A Memorial Gathering for friends and family are from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, May 17th at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. A Funeral Home Service will take place at 6:30 with Fr. John Granato officiating.
