Obituary of Ella Boudreaux Henry
NEW IBERIA – a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Patrick Antoine Henry, the former Ella Boudreaux, age 95, at 11:00 am Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Mario Romero officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Saturday until time of service at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am. A native of Abbeville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Henry passed away at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Brookdale Lafayette. Ella Boudreaux Henry met the love of her life, Pat Henry in Abbeville, LA prior to his tour of duty. They married while he was on leave and built a marriage that would last more than 70 years. After the war, they lived in Houston, TX where she was employed at Corn Products for many years. They would later move their young family to New Iberia where together they built a successful business and beautiful family. She was part owner and accountant of Pat Henry Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Ella was very involved and an active member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society and catechism teacher. She was an amazing wife and mother who enjoyed, cooking and gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Ellen H. Cronan and Karen H. Guidry both of New Iberia and Susan H. Feller and husband David of Tomball, TX; seven grandchildren, Holly Herrmann and husband Chris; Amelia Cronan; Elizabeth Alexandrian and husband Armen; Katie G. Laneaux and husband Garrett; Stephanie Landry and husband Richard; Patrick Feller and Brian Feller. She was preceded in death by her husband; Patrick Antoine Henry; her son, Jon Patrick Henry; her parents, Oscar and Ella Bouquet Boudreaux and two sisters, Maude B. Bodin and Mattie B. Myers. Pallbearers will be Melvin Myers, David Feller, Chris Herrmann, Armen Alexandrian, Garrett Laneaux and Richard Lundy. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Greig, Donnie Romero, Gene Romero, Patrick Feller and Brian Feller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
