Bill Osmond

OSMOND, Thomas (Bill) William Bill was born July 8th, 1953. Bill went to join his family on March 6th, 2018 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He is now at peace. His family left NL for Ontario when he was only 11 years old. Bill never lost his love for NL and he made many trips home over the years. In his teens he played for the Oshawa Generals but his dream of playing in the NHL didn't happen. He worked for GM for over 30 years and retired in 2007. In 1975 he married Joyce the love of his life. They would take trips to NL and to Nashville where he followed his dream of writing. In Nashville he met many people who became fast friends. In 2001 Frozen North Music was formed with Dave Frolick. Bill had a few songs on the radio over the years. When Bill wasn't writing he enjoyed a game of golf or cheering on his beloved Habs. Nothing was too much trouble for Bill, he was generous with everyone. He was a truly great man and I was proud to be his wife. He will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind Joyce (wife), Wanda (Sister) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Dora (mother), Bill (father), Bruce and Roy (brothers), Sandra (sister) and Sadie (sister-in-law). Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, March 9th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at THE SALVATION ARMY TEMPLE, 570 Thornton Rd. N., Oshawa on Saturday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
