Claire and family,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Don. We grew up together in Brighton living on the same street. His dad built my parents home just a couple of blocks from where Don and his family lived.
Don was a magnificent human being, always competitive yet kind and sensitive. My memories of his play on the basketball court are ones that I have cherished and will for the rest of my life. He was just fun to be around with a quick wit and easy style.
I hope the Good Lord can play basketball and golf.
God rest your soul Don and be with your family in this time of grief.

Many fond memories of working with Don, as the obituary states "he was one of the good guys" and that nails it. When he texted me and told me about the cancer he said "Guess I left some big foot prints back there", it was in regard to an outpouring of best wishes he had received. And yes he did have big feet, I told him that his prints were much larger than he could imagine, but the prints he left were of a different kind, memories of a special co-worker and friend and his legacy will live on in his fine children and grandchildren. They now will carry on those "big foot prints" in their lives. We used to joke how my wife Cathy would affectionately call him "Gramps" because she was younger.
Our prayer and condolences go out to the entire family for their loss.

There are people in the world that have the ability to make others better through their personality, kindness and authenticity. In my life I have been fortunate to have been around a few such individuals. Don always will be at the top of my list. I consider myself fortunate to have known Don.
