Linda Wingo

Linda Wingo, age 76, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at her residence. She was born November 1, 1942 to Evelyn Brown Jones and Robert Bonner “Billy” Jones. She was a 1960 graduate of Pontotoc High School. Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pontotoc, where she worked for many years, and was a member of the UMW. She and Bennie were members of the Jaycee’s and Jaycette's for several years. Linda had a talent for talking to people and she enjoyed walking, crossword puzzles and reading. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Pontotoc with Rev. Brad Hodges and Rev. Kenneth Corley officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bennie Wingo; her daughter, Melanie Sellers (Donnie); a son, Richie Wingo (Anita); two brothers, Claude Jones (Ann) and Larry Jones; a sister-in-law, Lottie Jones; five grandchildren, Mandi Stutsy-Waldrep, Robin Milsap, Donna Gail Stutsy, Carol Anne Wingo and Jake Wingo (Hope); and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Steve Jones and Joe Jones. Pallbearers will be Jake Wingo, Bill Jones, Grant Jones, George Jones and Chris Grubbs. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday and from 1 to 2:00 PM Wednesday, all at First United Methodist Church.
